British HC to meet Sri Lankan Business Community!

The newly appointed British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka and Maldives, James Duaris, will meet the Sri Lankan business community at a breakfast meeting to be held on June 10 at the Hilton Residencies.

The meeting, facilitated by the Council for Business with Britain of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, will enable the Sri Lankan corporate executives to get to know the new ambassador, introduce their companies to him and also share and exchange views for further development of trade between Sri Lanka and UK.

Before taking over his latest assignment, High Commissioner Dauris was the Ambassador to Peru. Before Peru, he has served in Colombia as Deputy Head of Mission and later has functioned as the ‘Acting Head of South Asia Group in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London’ and also as the Deputy Head of the EU External Department among several other postings.

HC Dauris has obtained a degree in law from the University of Cambridge and is a qualified solicitor.

The Council for Business with Britain (CBB), operating under the aegis of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, promotes two-way trade between Sri Lanka and the UK and maintains and fosters a harmonious business relationship between the countries.
