Cricket fans in Qatar to See Legends Jayasuriya and Lara in Action!

Sri Lankan legend Sanath Jayasuriya and West Indian batting great Brian Lara will lead sides featuring other prominent international cricket stars in an exhibition T20 match on October 6 at West End Park Cricket Stadium in Doha, Qatar.

According to the organisers, Sri Lanka’s current head coach and former captain Marvan Atapattu, Chamara Kapugedera and Angelo Perera will be the other Sri Lankans slated to appear at the Eid Cricket Festival.

The match, organised by West End Park and Qatar’s Ministry of Youth and Sports, will be a first for the country.

“The Eid Cricket Festival will be the first time such an array of international talent has come to Qatar,” Mana Ibrahim Al Mana, the West End Park chairman, told a press conference at the West End Park in Doha on Wednesday.

“I’m excited to see players of the calibre of Lara and Jayasuriya in the flesh for the first time and I know the public will be equally pleased.”
