Cricket World Cup 2015…
EIGHT cricketing nations take to the field today as the World Cup warm-up action heats up on both sides of the Tasman.
Two of the most favoured sides heading into the World Cup, New Zealand and South Africa, kicked things off with matches against Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka respectively.
However rain hit both matches, with the Black Caps’ clash against Zimbabwe abandoned after the hosts had crumbled to 7-157, while the Proteas were chasing a revised target of 224 from 30 overs.
The weather was better in Sydney, where England bowler Chris Woakes was on a hat-trick in the first over after dismissing Chris Gayle and Darren Bravo in successive balls.
