Dean McDermott Enters Rehab!
Dean McDermott is trying to earn back his family’s trust. The 47-year-old Chopped Canada star has entered rehab, his rep confirms.
“I am truly sorry for the mistakes I have made and for the pain I’ve caused my family,” McDermott tells Us in a statement. “I take full responsibility for my actions and have voluntarily checked myself into a treatment center to address some health and personal issues. I am grateful to be getting the help I need so I can become the husband and father my family deserves.”
Us exclusively broke news in its Dec. 26 cover story that McDermott cheated on wife Tori Spelling with a 28-year-old woman named Emily Goodhand in Toronto on Dec. 6. At the time, McDermott was in town to promote his series Chopped Canada.
“He told me he and Tori had a sexless marriage,” Goodhand told Us in an extensive interview. “I believed him.” The pair met through friends that day and returned back to his room at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel.
Spelling has yet to publicly address the affair in public. Amid the scandal, the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum has instead wished her readers a Happy New Year’s on her ediTORIal blog on Jan. 1 with a picture of the couple and their family, adopted a puppy on Jan. 6, and escaped to Disneyland with her kids on Jan. 11. The married couple of seven years — who starred in several reality shows together — are parents to Liam, 6, Stella, 5, Hattie, 2, and Finn, 16 months.
