White-bearded country singer who has sold more than one hundred million albums over the course of his career. He is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame.
Rogers attended Jefferson Davis High School. His first band, The Scholars, dissolved after their frontman left to go solo.
His two most influential albums were The Gambler and Kenny.
He married five times: first to Janice Gordon in May 1958, then to Jean in October 1960, then to Margo Anderson in October 1964, then to Marianne Gordon in October 1977, and then to Wanda Miller in June 1997.
He released a song with Dolly Parton called “The Greatest Gift of All.”
