Nepal Beat Sri Lanka 8-0

Sri Lanka were thrown out of the AFC Under 14 Girls’ Regional Championships 2015 when they were defeated by Nepal by 8-0 at Dashrath Stadium, Kathmandu, Nepal on Wednesday.

In a well balanced game, Nepalese scored four goals in the first half and another four in the second half.

Forward Rekha Poudel opened scoring for Nepal in the 13th minute. She scored another goal before the half time and Saru Limbu, Manisha Rout and Nisha Thokar also scored in the first half. After the lemons Rekha, Manisha and Saru scored a goal each while substitute Khadka scored their eight goal.

Sri Lanka won only one game in the tournament. They outplayed Maldives by 6-0 on the opening day. They tasted defeats on the hands of Iran ( 1-11 ) and Nepal ( 0-8 ) to take an early flight.

With this defeat Sri Lankan lasses were positioned third in the points table while Nepal and IR Iran in front of them with 9 and 6 points respectively.

The first semi final will be held between Nepal and India today at 1pm at Dashrath Stadium which is followed by the second semi final between Bangladesh and IR Iran at 4pm.

Losers of the semi finals will vie for third place on Saturday at 4pm at the same venue.
